Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance
Foundation Learning 16-18
You will achieve an Entry Level 3 or Level 1. The course covers a wide range of topics including:
- Change engine oil and filter
- Removing a cooling system thermostat and drive belt
- Safe lifting of a vehicle
- Brake shoe removal, inspection and assesment of unit
Functional skills including ICT, Maths and English.
Personal and social development skills, including:
- Working as part of a group
- Problem solving
- Healthy Living
- Money Management
Apprenticeship
You will achieve 8 units of the NVQ Light Vehicle Maintenance at Level 2.
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance
- Remove and replace engine units and components
- Key skills Application of Number, Communications and ICT Level 1
- Ensure your own actions reduce risks to Health & Safety
- Maintain positive working relationships
