Catering & Hospitality
Foundation Learning 16-19
Designed for studients interested in a career in the catering industry. Learners will be taught basic food safety and cookery skills in the College's fully equipped training kitchen based at the Brook Street campus.
The course consists of a range of topics to include the following:
- Introduction to the hospitality industry
- Customer service within the hospitality industry
- Introduction to healthy eating
- Basic food preparation and cooking
- Food safety in catering
This course also includes Functional Skills in ICT, Maths and English.
Personal and social development including:
- Working as part of a group
- Problem solving
- Healthy living
- Money management
