 First Aid Training

 

Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE)

Learn what is needed to give immediate attention to

casualties in serious situations.

 

Objectives

The course will cover:

  * The respiratory system and asphyxia, mouth to mouth

    ventilation and cardio pulmonary resuscitation

  * The recovery position

  * Cardio vascular symptom

  * On completion delegates will beable to take charge of first aid

    arrangements in the workplace, look after emergency equipment

    and facilities and contact the emergency services

 

Timeframe

  * 6 hours

 

 

First Aid at work (HSE)

All businesses must have a First Aid provision in case of

an accident or injury in the workplace The First Aid at

Work course adheres to the Health and Safety (First-Aid)

Regulations 1981 standards

 

Objectives

  * Understand the first aid legal framework

  * Recognise and respond appropriately to:

    Burns, bleeding, head injuries, heart attack,

    stroke, angina, epilepsy, diabetes, poisons,

    resuscitation, broken bones, sprains and strains

  * On completion delegates will be able to provide first aid

    where a person will need medical attention from a GP

    or Nurse and feel confident treating minor injuries that

    do not require medical attention from a GP or Nurse. 

 

Timeframe

  * 3 day course

 

 

First Aid for People Working with Young Children

Understand the specific First Aid requirements for people working

with children up to 12 years of age.

 

Objectives

  * Plan for and deal with first aid  emergencies involving babies

    and children

  * Carry out resuscitation techniques

  * Recognise and deal with shock in  babies and children

  * Recognise and respond to bleeding in babies and children

  * Respond appropriately to burns, scolds, choking and suspected

    fractures in babies and children

  * Respond appropriately to head, neck and back injuries in babies

    and children

  * Recognise and respond to suspected meningitis and other

    serious sudden illnesses.

 

Timeframe

  * 12 hours
